The Royal Palace of Stockholm

The Royal Palace of Stockholm stands proudly on Slottsbacken in the Swedish capital’s charming Old Town. Designed by master architect Nicodemus Tessin the Younger – this enormous jewel of a regal building was inaugurated in 1754. Tessin learnt his craft in France, Italy and England, where he studied architecture and landscape gardening for many years. A former pupil of Lorenzo Bernini, he drew heavily on the Baroque architecture of Rome – which explains why he decided to model The Royal of Palace of Stockholm on a Roman palace.

After five years of renovations and modernizations, Nationalmuseum - Sweden's premier museum of art and design - opened up its doors again in 2018. The new space is tailored, quite literally, highlight the museum's enormous collection of classic art.  Building Exterior Functionalism.. Entrance Hall  Permanent Exhibition Facts:  When the building was completed in 1863, a total of 427 drawings were submitted to the Office of the Superintendent of Public Buildings – 270 building plans and 157 decoration drawings. The glass panes used in the windows surpassed any that had previously been used in the country. At this time, the largest window panes used for housing normally measured 45x45 cm. The largest window panes in Nationalmuseum were 170x200 cm in size. They were manufactured at a factory in Aachen, Germany. 1988 Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Champagne Brut Vintage Rare. Rather dark colour and very little fizz. Mature, balanced and complex with a slight hint of mushrooms. Very good đŸŸđŸ˜Š, but the drinking window is closing...   Rare Vintage 1988 This Vintage is made up from twenty villages all classified as Premiers or Grands Crus. They are located in the CĂŽte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims regions. The dominance and power comes from the Pinot Noir, which represents 68% of the blend. The finesse and elegance are achieved from a complement of 32% Chardonnay. The effervescence is both delicate and long lasting. The bouquet is fine and complex, strong in the aromas of dried fruits and flowers. There is an elegant harmony in the nose around toast and brioche notes. In the mouth, the wine is firm and well structured, with masses of substance and refinement. Such wine accompanies perfectly lobsters, scallops and sea fish.
